Solar Asset Management N.V. provides discretionary investment/ asset management services to individual and institutional clients starting at $100,000. All investments are made on behalf of the client through a variety of securities such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, derivatives and more. The term discretionary refers to the investment decisions being made by Solar Asset Management as the Investment Manager based on proprietary research and analysis.
 

Services are tailor-made to client’s profile so to suit their risk appetite, risk tolerance, and investment objectives. All investments done by Solar Asset Management are within the “limits” of its strategy. The value investing strategy seeks substantial returns without incurring too much risk. Our goal is to preserve your capital/ purchasing power by growing it with at least the inflation rate and an acceptable premium for the added risk.
 

To preserve capital does not solely entail having good returns but also a solid and trustworthy deposit banks. Clients will have their own investment account on their name at a reputable bank in Europe. The account can be accessed 24/7 through e-banking and can be used for other financial services as well. Solar Asset Management charges an annual fixed rate of the Assets Under Management (AUM) for its services. Solar Asset Management N.V. manages 4 investment funds (mutual funds) with differing strategies and focus that are ideal for institutional investors and high-net worth individuals seeing the reduced risk through diversification, advanced portfolio management, and the benefits of economies of scale. The investment funds are: Solar Value Fund (SVF), Solar Special Value Fund (SSVF), Solar Resources Fund (SRF), and Lunar Value Fund (LVF).

Solar Value Fund (SVF)
The Solar Value Fund invests in about twenty American publicly traded equity securities with an emphasis on individual security selection based on thorough fundamental analysis rather than general equity market movements. The Fund is long-only and concentrates its research and capital on undervalued, mid-cap companies chosen from a carefully defined universe of quality industrial and consumer products and services companies. The Fund may use currency-hedging related derivatives.  

                 

Solar Special Value Fund (SSVF)
The Solar Special Value Fund seeks substantial capital appreciation by investing in about forty international publicly traded equity securities, with an emphasis on individual security selection based on thorough fundamental analysis rather than general equity market movements. The Fund is long-only and concentrates its research and capital on special investment ideas. These investments can be undervalued conglomerates, family companies or other specific investments. Some of these investments carry a greater risk, but this allows for extraordinary return potential in the future. The Fund may use currency-hedging related derivatives.

Solar Resources Fund (SRF)
The Solar Resources Fund seeks substantial capital appreciation by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of about forty international publicly traded equity securities in the resource industry. The fund may also invest in equity funds, but not more than 10% of its net assets in the securities of a single fund. The fund is long-only and concentrates its research and capital on undervalued resource companies, such as companies with exposure to precious metals, base metals, and energy (oil, gas, and renewables). Some of these investments carry a greater risk, but this allows for extraordinary return potential in the future. The Fund may use currency-hedging related derivatives.         

                               

Lunar Value Fund (LVF)
The Lunar Value Fund invests in about twenty European publicly traded equity securities with an emphasis on individual security selection based on thorough fundamental analysis rather than general equity market movements. The Fund is long-only and concentrates its research and capital on undervalued, mid-cap companies chosen from a carefully defined universe of quality industrial and consumer products and services companies. The Fund is euro-denominated and may use currency-hedging related derivatives.

A Statement of Investment Principles (SIP) details the policies which control how a financial services company invests. Basically, the SIP sets out the principles governing how decisions about investments are made and is prepared in accordance with all relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.

 

An Investment Policy Statement (IPS) is a document drafted between the client and its investment manager. The document serves to outline the general rules for the manager. It includes the general investment goals and objectives of the client, the risk tolerance, asset-allocation, and liquidity requirements. It also includes the strategy the manager should employ to meet the investment objectives.
